Mining can be a dirty business.
Mining can disrupt the community and hurt the environment.
Aria Gems’ Mining: Using traditional mining methods dating back thousands of years, Aria Gems’ miners have protected their ancestral lands; limiting the use of heavy machinery; limiting road building; and preserving historic sites.
Aria Gems recognizes the importance of taking care of the environment and respecting the community where it mines. Aria Gems takes every step to reduce its impact on the environment. No chemicals are, or ever will be, used in our mining process. No child labor is, or ever will be, used in our mining or cutting operations. Aria Gems has invested in the safety and health of the miners and has worked with International Organizations and the US Government to provide miners with safety equipment and newer technology to enable quicker extraction of the gems while minimizing impact to the environment. Aria Gems engages with local communities, and stakeholders, to address their needs and mitigate any impact from mining. Aria Gems has delivered classes and training and is currently working to establish jewellery making and gem cutting and polishing classes for the women of the valley. The classes are designed to help women seek alternate sources of livelihood and remain part of the community.
